Clooney's Cluelessness

George Clooney and other Hollywood types are quick to praise the U.N. even though their "peacekeepers" are raping children in Africa. In a spot entitled "Peace is Hard" (isn't that a hoot!) Clooney stumps for the U.N. thanking them for "protecting civilians", blah, blah, blah. The real heroes, our soldiers, do their jobs without notice from Hollywood, laying down their very lives and knuckleheads like Clooney continue to remain aloof from reality!

McCain's speech

When I hear John McCain talk about the "politics of selfishness" it makes my teeth grind. So he's going to go to Washington to work with Democrats to "get things done".  I am very afraid. I don't want Washington to "get things done". I want Republicans to, at the very least, hold the line against liberal laws that impose on our freedoms, even if nothing gets done. I want a Republican that is proud of the what differentiates him from the Democrats. I want a partisan for president who champions conservative ideals because conservative ideals are what are good for the country. Today, in light of John McCain's speech I am....speechless.

President Bush at the Knesset

Okay, I've been dispirited. But today Pres. Bush made a speech at the Knesset chastising those that would appease tyrants. Tom Daschle was basically spitting mad, as were the Obama campaign. LOVE IT! Though the president was talking about history, it hit it's target and the dogs yelped! Obama has said that he would talk to Iran so the president was on target. We also cannot appease Democrats.  This is what John McCain will never do: he won't take it to the Democrats and call them on their stupidity. He will appease our political enemies, cross the aisle and compromise our principles. I'm not saying that I don't want to work with Democrats but THEY DON'T WANT TO WORK WITH US, THEY WANT TO BEAT US! President Bush knows this and he has been a formidable foe of the left. He has been stalwart and immovable on his principles. I haven't agreed on everything he's done but he has sure been steadfast. Now if McCain would just get some.....

Not Daily lately

So sorry i haven't been daily lately. Working too hard, i guess.

So...."we need to talk about race"! isn't that all the left talks about? incessantly? less talk about race, i think, would be an improvement in our dialogue, and more about issues. So Obama has said that there is a "black view" and a "white view" of America. isn't this a racist statement from a "post-racial" candidate? the Left never changes!

The real culture of corruption

SO....Democrat Elliot Spitzer gets caught doing the very thing he has prosecuted people for and all anyone on television has to say is "what a tragedy"! Today is Tuesday, the day after, and I'm thinking he is going to try to stay in office. It would be just like a Democrat to consider this as just a bothersome episode, and if he weathers it it will make him stronger. And why not? Look at Bill Clinton!

California to parents: "You have no right"!

Good point, just made by Jason Lewis, talk show host: Henry Kissinger cannot come and teach a government class nor can Steve Jobs teach a computer class because they don't have a teaching credential! California is cracking down on homeschooling parents, no matter that their kids out-perform those in public schools! Government has a monopoly on education and they are training our kids to be good Liberals! This is on appeal and it must go to the Supreme Court. The leftist judge said that "parents have no legal right to homeschool". That sounds almost Marxist to me! Apparently, according to this judge, unless enumerated in the state constitution, we do not have that right! He's got it backward!  OUR RIGHTS DO NOT COME FROM GOVERNMENT. The constitution does not, neither the state (California) nor the federal constitution, reserve to the government the right to have sole responsibility for educating our children. Where are the liberals who constantly wail about monopolies when it comes to "Big Oil" or "Clear Channel"??  A double standard for sure!

Crossing over ethical??

"McCain, who appeals largely to independents, was hoping to benefit from that turnout. But with Hillary Clinton as the only frontrunner on the Democratic ballot, Democrats were being urged from some quarters to cross over and vote for his main rival.

The former Massachusetts governor had so far won only the lightly-regarded Wyoming primary and some pundits suggest that if he didn't win Michigan -- where he has sunk millions of dollars into advertising -- that his campaign could be on the ropes.

In a January 10 post titled "Let's Have Some Fun in Michigan," Markos Moulitsas wrote on his popular liberal site, The Daily Kos, that Michigan Democrats should help Romney.

"We want Romney in, because the more Republican candidates we have fighting it out, trashing each other with negative ads and spending tons of money, the better it is for us," he said. "We want Mitt to stay in the race, and to do that, we need him to win in Michigan."  CNN

"With a history of meddling in our primaries, why don’t we try and return the favor. Next Tuesday, January 15th, Michigan will hold its primary. Michigan Democrats should vote for Mitt Romney, because if Mitt wins, Democrats win." OUTSIDETHEBELTWAY.COM

...So excuse me for not feeling bad about the crossing over strategy! Ethics? Yes, it's ethical! Let me tell you something..whoever becomes the president will be the president of ALL THE UNITED STATES, EVERYONE. So any strategy that is employed when choosing the nominee is fair when choosing our president. The cross over strategy is legal and ethical and done by both sides. Of course, only Republicans "corrupt the democratic process". Whaaaaaaaa. They just don't like it when we use the same rules they use! And any of you who "don't want to stoop to their level", get over it! The future of our country is at stake!

The American Dream 2.0

Now Obama is giving parenting advice. And why not? He's campaigning for the right to be the country's daddy. Don't worry; he'll take care of all the awful decisions that face us. It just takes a Kenyan village! Michelle Obama doesn't want you to worry your little head over anything; don't go to college, loans are too much of a hassle. Don't work for a corporation and make lots of money. The Obama's have loads of money but it's such a hassle that they don't recommend it. Really! The American dream 2.0 brought to you by the Democrats!

McCain attacks the wrong guy!

McCain can't find the cojones to slam the NYT over a smear but he can slam Bill Cunningham, a guy who is on OUR side, wo was attacking the opposition! Well, he's a radio talk show host which says it all. We know how McCain feels about right-wing talk show hosts! He should save some of that bravado for the Times.

Patriotism-killers

This makes me sick! With Europe committing suicide, leftists see no connection between their dying culture and the killing of nationalism, suppressing free speech and advancing "multi-culturalism". The leftist agenda is death for anything that resembles patriotism. Leftists are loath to acknowledge that western civilization is the best hope for mankind. And now they are infiltrating our American public school system. PULL YOUR KIDS OUT NOW! Put them into Christian school or some other private school unless you want your kids to grow up to be little leftist socialists!

Fisa and McCain; and other stuff..

In 2006 on FoxNews, McCain: Bush does not have "the legal authority to engage in these warrantless wiretaps"......when S. Amdt. 1927, which allows eavesdropping without a FISA court order, came up in 2007, HE DID NOT VOTE. why haven't we heard a vociferous defense of the renewal of FISA from McCain? Because he would be vulnerable to being called a hypocrite by Hillary and Obama because of his past position. Strong on national security? hmmmmm.

After reading the article by Daniel Oliver in NRO, "McCain's not a conservative, but that's o.k." I responded thus: The reality is that all those conservatives like myself will probably, in the end, pull the lever, check the box, whatever, for McCain, once we step into that voting booth but nothing gets me more riled towards our own party than for them to tell me to sit down and shut up. McCain is who he is and that is NOT CONSERVATIVE. What we fear by his use of that term is that conservatism will be watered down. The party should acknowledge his past, call him a moderate and be done with it. If that happens I would stop "demanding that he be conservative" because he will no longer be "damaging our brand". There is only so much one can do about "making conservatism the ipod of philosophies". Goodness knows, after the successes of Ronald Reagan, Republican politicians should say aha! that's the way to win! but no! Republican politicians continue to lean to the left thinking that the only way we can win is to attract liberals into the party and so turn us into a "big tent" party, Democrat style, because they want to be "loved". That is largely what is behind McCain's moniker "maverick", a name given him by the media. He was a maverick because he bucked and undermined his own colleagues. Well, now he will have to be a "maverick" and go against his former positions to attract conservatives. A difficult job, that. Which brings me to my last comment; I don't think that McCain is making amends for the sake of the country. He repulsed me when he effectively called me "an agent of intolerance" so forgive me for being more than a little cynical about his efforts to make amends; I think his presidential run is more likely for the sake of his legacy.

So while I may, and I emphasize may, vote for him, I reserve the right to continue to highlight his real positions, and no one is going to shut me up! And if all you "sit down and shut up" fellow Republicans had any guts you'd also call him what he is; a moderate who thinks government is the answer. I'd respect you a lot more for it.

Our victorious troops

Have we forgotten our soldiers in Iraq? When everything was chaos and dying we were bombarded daily (with glee) by the media with stories of the horrors of war. But now there is an eerie silence in the news. This story, "U.S. troops attack al-Qa'eda's [last] Iraq stronghold" should be stirring some interest in the media. After all, the big question was "when can we bring our troops home"? But bringing them home victorious was not what the left wanted. They wanted a beaten down military, like in their glory days of Vietnam, when they could boo and spit on our soldiers. Somehow a victorious soldier doesn't isn't what they had in mind.

McCain and 51.7%

I just knew they were wrong! Moderate Republicans have been touting McCain's conservative rating as 87% or 89% but what they don't mention is that he peaked in 1994! Since 2001 his rating has fallen to 51.7%! He has consistently moved to the left in an effort to attract liberals and moderates. I am really conflicted. I haven't decided what I'm going to do but I will tell you this: It doesn't serve anyone, particularly conservatives, to obfuscate McCain's record. It is what it is and we should shed light on it so that if he becomes president we can hold his feet to the fire on those issues we deem important. IGNORANCE IS NOT BLISS.
