The American Dream 2.0

Now Obama is giving parenting advice. And why not? He's campaigning for the right to be the country's daddy. Don't worry; he'll take care of all the awful decisions that face us. It just takes a Kenyan village! Michelle Obama doesn't want you to worry your little head over anything; don't go to college, loans are too much of a hassle. Don't work for a corporation and make lots of money. The Obama's have loads of money but it's such a hassle that they don't recommend it. Really! The American dream 2.0 brought to you by the Democrats!

McCain attacks the wrong guy!

McCain can't find the cojones to slam the NYT over a smear but he can slam Bill Cunningham, a guy who is on OUR side, wo was attacking the opposition! Well, he's a radio talk show host which says it all. We know how McCain feels about right-wing talk show hosts! He should save some of that bravado for the Times.

Patriotism-killers

This makes me sick! With Europe committing suicide, leftists see no connection between their dying culture and the killing of nationalism, suppressing free speech and advancing "multi-culturalism". The leftist agenda is death for anything that resembles patriotism. Leftists are loath to acknowledge that western civilization is the best hope for mankind. And now they are infiltrating our American public school system. PULL YOUR KIDS OUT NOW! Put them into Christian school or some other private school unless you want your kids to grow up to be little leftist socialists!

Fisa and McCain; and other stuff..

In 2006 on FoxNews, McCain: Bush does not have "the legal authority to engage in these warrantless wiretaps"......when S. Amdt. 1927, which allows eavesdropping without a FISA court order, came up in 2007, HE DID NOT VOTE. why haven't we heard a vociferous defense of the renewal of FISA from McCain? Because he would be vulnerable to being called a hypocrite by Hillary and Obama because of his past position. Strong on national security? hmmmmm.

After reading the article by Daniel Oliver in NRO, "McCain's not a conservative, but that's o.k." I responded thus: The reality is that all those conservatives like myself will probably, in the end, pull the lever, check the box, whatever, for McCain, once we step into that voting booth but nothing gets me more riled towards our own party than for them to tell me to sit down and shut up. McCain is who he is and that is NOT CONSERVATIVE. What we fear by his use of that term is that conservatism will be watered down. The party should acknowledge his past, call him a moderate and be done with it. If that happens I would stop "demanding that he be conservative" because he will no longer be "damaging our brand". There is only so much one can do about "making conservatism the ipod of philosophies". Goodness knows, after the successes of Ronald Reagan, Republican politicians should say aha! that's the way to win! but no! Republican politicians continue to lean to the left thinking that the only way we can win is to attract liberals into the party and so turn us into a "big tent" party, Democrat style, because they want to be "loved". That is largely what is behind McCain's moniker "maverick", a name given him by the media. He was a maverick because he bucked and undermined his own colleagues. Well, now he will have to be a "maverick" and go against his former positions to attract conservatives. A difficult job, that. Which brings me to my last comment; I don't think that McCain is making amends for the sake of the country. He repulsed me when he effectively called me "an agent of intolerance" so forgive me for being more than a little cynical about his efforts to make amends; I think his presidential run is more likely for the sake of his legacy.

So while I may, and I emphasize may, vote for him, I reserve the right to continue to highlight his real positions, and no one is going to shut me up! And if all you "sit down and shut up" fellow Republicans had any guts you'd also call him what he is; a moderate who thinks government is the answer. I'd respect you a lot more for it.

Our victorious troops

Have we forgotten our soldiers in Iraq? When everything was chaos and dying we were bombarded daily (with glee) by the media with stories of the horrors of war. But now there is an eerie silence in the news. This story, "U.S. troops attack al-Qa'eda's [last] Iraq stronghold" should be stirring some interest in the media. After all, the big question was "when can we bring our troops home"? But bringing them home victorious was not what the left wanted. They wanted a beaten down military, like in their glory days of Vietnam, when they could boo and spit on our soldiers. Somehow a victorious soldier doesn't isn't what they had in mind.

McCain and 51.7%

I just knew they were wrong! Moderate Republicans have been touting McCain's conservative rating as 87% or 89% but what they don't mention is that he peaked in 1994! Since 2001 his rating has fallen to 51.7%! He has consistently moved to the left in an effort to attract liberals and moderates. I am really conflicted. I haven't decided what I'm going to do but I will tell you this: It doesn't serve anyone, particularly conservatives, to obfuscate McCain's record. It is what it is and we should shed light on it so that if he becomes president we can hold his feet to the fire on those issues we deem important. IGNORANCE IS NOT BLISS.

Preaching to the Kids

I'm getting pretty tired of the government trying to teach our kids everything but reading, writing and math. The California state senate has passed SB908, authored by Democrat (of course!) Joe Simitian from Palo Alto, to require schools to teach "climate change". I don't care what they say, there is no way that it will be taught fairly. This is a subject that should already be covered in science class and history class. The warm period during the middle ages, the ice age, etc. should be part of the school curriculum. But that is not what they mean when they speak of "climate change". Parents, if you don't teach your kids at home (and I don't mean home school but just plain old every day conversing about issues) then government will fill you kids heads with every kind of socialist propaganda they can. At the very least make sure your kids develop a skeptical nature. Beyond reading, writing and math they should know that teachers' may have opinions about other topics of the day but they are just as fallible as anyone else. As for my husband and me, we have put our child into a christian school but as long as they keep taking our tax money for public schools i will have plenty to say about their preaching!

No Fight in 'im

RED FLAG ALERT! Mark McKinnon, McCain's advisor won't fight Obama if Obama is the nominee! I think he has a man-crush on him! McCain needs to get rid of him now. He' s gonna have to fight tooth and nail if he wants to win because i think it's going to be near impossible to beat him. Look's like we'll be having a president Obama soon!

False Prophet

Multiculturalism is a cancer. And it is spreading in Britain. The Archbishop of Canterbury, the head of the Anglican church, has endorsed sharia law! It caused me at first to wonder if he wasn't suffering from dementia. But i fear instead it is a result of "tolerance" taken to an extreme. An extreme that will be the end of Britain as we know it. With an increasingly unruly, uncivil muslin population there are already "no-go" areas in the city where one would be putting their lives at risk just to enter. How can a shepherd of Christ, contemplate such evil? In the past, the Archbishop, Rowan Williams, has said he thinks the nativity just a "legend" and now this! A Christian leader who has no faith! Now, I will state plainly: British law is superior to sharia law in every way. Britain must stand up and proclaim it proudly and impose it forcefully to stop their slide into chaos or they will lose their way of life. And the church in England must remove Rowan Williams from his position as Archbishop. He is a false prophet.

Sweet Nothings

As I was on my home tonight I listened to a radio station replay Obama's speech last night after super Tuesday voting. What soaring words and grand visions! He sounded wonderful and he elicited such a passionate response from the audience! I was so moved! But he said absolutely NOTHING. But it got me to wondering how many of my fellow Republicans will fall for his oratory. I have always said that conservatism is about substance. Conservatism requires us to educate ourselves on our history, the meaning of freedom, the proper role of government, the effect of socialism on our moral character, etc. But liberalism requires no thought whatsoever. It is the default position. "How does it make me feel"? is all you need to ask yourself. "He makes me feel so wonderful"! He is a "charismatic leader" but who else in history has been a charismatic leader with a message that rallied the masses? Charisma, the force of personality, is useful when the message is negative or nil. Funnily enough, Ronald Reagan was never described as being a charismatic leader. He was "the great communicator" and he had a message of great substance to communicate. The next time you hear Obama speak in that deep, rich voice about "hope" and "change" ask yourself "do i want sweet nothings whispered in my ear" or real, substantive ideas, put into action, that will bring us closer to the founder's ideal of a free America!

Stop the comparisons with Reagan

I'm getting pretty tired of people pointing to Reagan's record as a justification for McCain's lapses against the Republican party. When Reagan signed the Simpson-Mazoli bill giving amnesty to illegal aliens it was with the promise from congress that illegal immigration would be stopped. It never happened. So now we're being told that "McCain is just doing what Reagan did" but that is sheer stupidity. We made that mistake once, we don't want to make it again! AT EVERY INSTANCE THAT REAGAN COMPROMISED HE DID SO FROM A POSITION OF STRENGTH AND HE ARTICULATED CONSERVATISM. HE ARTICULATED A VISION OF LIMITED GOVERNMENT AGAIN AND AGAIN AND AGAIN. HE ATTACKED THE LEFT AND IF HE HAD TO COMPROMISE WITH DEMOCRATS HE EXTRACTED SOMETHING FROM THEM. HE NEVER GAVE HIS PRINCIPLES AWAY AND HE NEVER TOUTED "REACHING ACROSS THE AISLE WITH DEMOCRATS" AS A POINT OF PRIDE. There is not a single issue that can be pointed to in Reagan's record that has any comparison to McCain's. McCain delights in giving everything away to Democrats. He will reach across the aisle gladly but he's going to be the "maverick" and stick it to his own party. McCain's adman has promised that if Obama is the Democrat nominee they will not "tape ads against" him. In fact, he even considered becoming a Democrat! Reagan's 11th commandment was about not saying anything bad about fellow Republicans. McCain has it turned around! WHY WAS REAGAN SO HATED BY LIBERALS? WHY IS MCCAIN SO LOVED BY LIBERALS?  So let's end the comparisons with Reagan.

Dr. Dobson on McCain

"I'm deeply disappointed the Republican Party seems poised to select a nominee who did not support a Constitutional amendment to protect the institution of marriage, who voted for embryonic stem cell research to kill nascent human beings, who opposed tax cuts that ended the marriage penalty, and who has little regard for freedom of speech, who organized the Gang of 14 to preserve filibusters, and has a legendary temper and often uses foul and obscene language.

"I am convinced Sen. McCain is not a conservative, and in fact, has gone out of his way to stick his thumb in the eyes of those who are.  He has at times sounded more like a member of the other party.  McCain actually considered leaving the GOP in 2001, and approached John Kerry about being Kerry's running mate in 2004.  McCain also said publicly that Hillary Clinton would make a good president.  Given these and many other concerns, a spoonful of sugar does not make the medicine go down.  I cannot, and I will not vote for Sen. John McCain, as a matter of conscience.

"But what a sad and melancholy decision this is for me and many other conservatives.  Should John McCain capture the nomination as many assume, I believe this general election will offer the worst choices for president in my lifetime.  I certainly can't vote for Hillary Clinton or Barack Obama based on their virulently anti-family policy positions.  If these are the nominees in November, I simply will not cast a ballot for president for the first time in my life.  These decisions are my personal views and do not represent the organization with which I'm affiliated.  They do reflect, however, my deeply held convictions about the institution of the family, about moral and spiritual beliefs, and about the welfare of our country."

McCain's Democrat Advisor

" One senior aide to John McCain has already said he's reluctant to attack Obama: last year, McCain's adman Mark McKinnon  wrote an internal memo promising not to tape ads against the Illinois Democrat if he becomes the nominee. "   Oh, I see. McCain's camp won't attack Obama but he will attack his fellow Republican, Mitt Romney! This is what I'm afraid of. If McCain wins the nomination he won't attack the Democrats vociferously enough BECAUSE HE AGREES WITH THEM! And by the way, Mark Mckinnon, McCain's top advisor, IS A DEMOCRAT!

McCain is no Ronald Reagan

John McCain IS NO RONALD REAGAN. President Reagan's record is being distorted to justify McCain's left-wing agenda. Here is a great piece that sets out the truth by Mark Levin.
